Vancouver Island Royals announce Julien Phillips as U15 head coach for 2026-27 BCEHL season

The Vancouver Island Royals are pleased to announce that Julien Phillips has been appointed as the U15 AAA Head Coach for the 2026-27 season.

Julien Phillips grew up playing hockey with Peninsula Minor Hockey Association through the U18 level before going on to play three seasons with the Peninsula Panthers, including the 2021–22 VIJHL Champions.

In 2022-23, while still playing Julien developed a passion for coaching, it started with the PMHA U15 team that advanced to provincials and continued the following two seasons with the PMHA U18 team, focusing on skill development and offensive play. In 2025-26 Julien was the head coach of the U15 T1 team at VRC. “I particularly enjoy working with the U15 age group, it’s a great balance of developing skill and high energy, making it an exciting and rewarding level to coach.” Said Julien.
